This bit of information might prove helpful to those who wish to open a Home for the Aged (Old Age Home) in India and also to those who wish to know the total amount of Grant given to Old Age Homes in India.

(1)  Government of India provides Grants to NGOs or organisations who operate such Homes for the Elderly and the infirm. The break up of maximum funds provided by Government for operation and maintenance of an old age home with 25 inmates is given below:

(All figures are in Indian Rupees)

Staff Salary  : 84,000.00
Bldg. rent / maintenance : 60,000.00
Healthcare/ Nutrition : 1,39,875.00             
Recreation  : 12,000.00
Miscellaneous  : 11,250.00
                                       
Total   : 3,07,125.00

Less : 10% Orgn. Share : 30,713.00

Net Grants  : 2,76,412.00

Thus on an average the government grants about Rs. 11000/- per inmate towards meeting the cost of caring and providing for them.

    “Satya Sankshema Sangham” is an independent, Non-profit, Non-political, Non-sectarian developmental organization started by Dr.K.Satyanarayana (President) with the co-operation of his wife Dr.K.Premalatha and his son Dr.K.Sreedhar, in 1989 and Registered under Indian Societies Act XXI of 1860, and obtained all the Legal status of 12A, 80G (V) & (6), FCRA, PAN, TAN. We are having all Legal status for Tax Exemption. We have been working with indigenous communities in the Eastern Ghats of our District since then. SSS has always believed in smaller interventions at the grass-root level which are easy to manage and operationally possible

    The Old Age Home project we wish to undertake with assistance will benefit nearly 32 members very old people and these persons unable to work because of their age and some times they are unable to do their daily works and at that time they need some nurses for their help.All these people in this old age home under taken by our organization is very poor parents and all are neglected by their family members.

    The present old age home has less facilities in a closed chamber. If a Donor comes with broad views and help our home, we would like to construct and give all humanly needed facilities for these old people. And the home will be named after their name.

    we are from jai deep group our firm is non profit and non goverment organisation and working in the field of health from last few years. we are planning to open a old age home in agra .The Old Age Home project we wish to undertake with assistance will benefit nearly 50peoples very old people and these persons unable to work because of their age and some times they are unable to do their daily works and at that time they need homes too for there living and some nurses for their help.
    there is not a single old age home near by our city we want to build and construct a old age home and give all humanly needed facilities for these old people.     but we have not much ideas above this, like how we can arrange funds, land & building and other resources. also we have want to knowledge of running method of old age homes.

    We are from ‘NARIKELDAHA PRAYAS’ is a Registered society under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961 No S/1E/54246 and working in the field of health. we are planning to open a old age home in purba Medinipur. The Old Age Home project we wish to undertake with assistance will benefit nearly 50peoples very old people and these persons unable to work because of their age and some times they are unable to do their daily works and at that time they need homes too for there living and some nurses for their help.

    Any one can guide me for opening old age people home. We are planning to open home for old age people near my home town in Mehsana district of Gujarat State. I would like to know about legal requirements or approval or registration, as well as fund / infrastructure/ other services requirements for establishment of home for 25 members and approximate maintenance costs which include food, medical facilities, administration and manpower requirements, clothes, sweepers’ services, and security services. In addition to this, how to get government or private support with respect to fund for opening old age people home. We don’t have any registration of NGO or any other related organization.
